What's our story?
It's a tale of two mothers
I Am Here was set up by two mothers whose sons had experienced the trauma of an acquired brain injury (ABI). Through contact with others in the same situation, they came to see the need for a place that gave carers and their loved ones a real break, an opportunity to rejuvenate. This is how our supported independent living and respite homes came to be.

18 Isabella Close - Respite
Set in a leafy, tranquil location down a quiet cul-de-sac in Elermore Vale, this five-bed respite house is just 15 minutes drive from Newcastle CBD. Elermore Vale shopping centre is a leisurely walk away.

This lovely suburban home is just a five-minute stroll from 18 Isabella Close, allowing residents and guests to visit, make new friends and enjoy each other's company. It hosts up to four guests and residents.

This spacious eight-bedroom Federation-style home sits on a beautiful leafy acreage at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac off Lake Road, Wallsend. Our residents and guests love the relaxed 'own home' country feel.
